Fluid Energy Introduces System for Propellant Grinding Applications

Fluid Energy Processing & Equipment Company offers the Model 0304 Jet-O-Mizer, a size reduction system addressing the need for propellant grinding. The Model 0304 Jet-O-Mizer was designed to grind rocket propellant to a 2-micron average at a rate of 500 pounds per hour.

When designing systems for propellants or explosives, special construction features on the system are utilized. In these instances, Fluid Energy applies procedures found in U.S. government specifications, as well as Hercules, Morton Thiacol and in in-house specifications relating to the fabrication of milling systems for propellant and explosives use.

Due to its grinding characteristics, the Jet-O-Mizer is most frequently used in the milling of RDX, HMX and black powder. Fluid Energy's Micro-Jet systems are typically used to grind oxidizers such as Ammonium Perchlorate.
